We have made it to Day 2 of the 31 Day Blog Challenge. Day 2 asks you to divulge 20 facts about yourself. I thought this would be challenging, but once I wrote down the first few ideas, it was easy. I could have shared even more. It felt like I was writing a short story.
If you are venturing out into the world of blogging, I encourage you to complete the 31 day blog challenge. It forces you to write about yourself and if you’re anything like me, that can be tricky. It’s easy to feel like you aren’t that interesting or that you don’t have much to say, but we do! Sometimes we just need a little nudge to step outside of our comfort zone.
In the words of Dr. Seuss:
“Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.” We all have stories to share and nobody can tell your story better than you.
Ok, so let’s get started with my list:
1. I am obsessed with Rae Dunn. (If you are interested in winning the coffee mug featured in the photo above, head on over to my Instagram and enter my giveaway!)
2. My birthday is in July. I’m a Cancer. I agree with most of the traits used to describe Cancers. We are sensitive, sympathetic, crabby, homebodies.
3. I am a teacher. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders. 4th grade is my jam!
4. I have been married for 12 years and I have a 9 year old daughter.
5. My favorite color is blue. It calms me. I guess it reminds me of the ocean.
6. Christmas is my favorite holiday, of course! It’s such a magical time of year.
7. My favorite TV series of all time is Breaking Bad. I think I can identify with Walt’s teaching character wanting a little excitement out of life.
8. I have a fear of flying, but I do love to travel.
9. My favorite food is pizza (good, simple, cheesy, thin crust pizza).
10. I can’t play an instrument. I took piano lessons for several years but was never passionate about it. God bless my parents for allowing me to try so many things!
11. My happy place is at home. It really is.
12. I love cruising! There’s just something I love so much about that big boat out on the ocean!
13. I want to visit Paris and London one day. I have never been to Europe.
14. I love playing slot machines, but I’m not willing to lose more than $20.
15. I love chocolate. I love it even more when combined with pretzels, caramel, or peanut butter.
16. I hate Twizzlers. What’s the point?
17. My favorite fruits are ruby red grapefruits and red grapes.
18. Drake and Jay-Z are my all time faves. Completely different styles, but their lyrics and beats speak to me.
19. I love basil. I love growing it, cooking with it, smelling it, you name it!
20. I love to read thrillers with endings that surprise me. I hate to see it coming.
I had to include this last one-I love coffee. It just feels right to start the day with a warm cup of joe.
