Today’s blog challenge is to share the three personality traits I am most proud of. Writing these blog posts each day has been challenging because I am forced to talk about myself. I am learning that is very uncomfortable for me to do. I would rather talk about other people or topics that do not directly involve me. However, I am committed to completing each day of the challenge, so here we go!
When I chose these personality traits, I chose not to consult others. I chose three traits that I believe to be true about me. One thing I am striving for in my life is zen. I want to live a calm and balanced life. In order to live a zen life, I am trying to be true to myself. I’m not trying to change my personality. I can accept who I am and that brings zen into my life. Let’s take a look at those personality traits:
1. Sensitive
I am definitely a very sensitive person. This can be considered a positive and a negative trait. For the purpose of the blog challenge, I will focus on the positive. I am sensitive to the needs of others. When others are emotional, I become emotional as well. I am very sensitive to the needs of my family, but also the needs of strangers. Those holiday greeting from military members overseas? They get me every year.
2. Flexible
In general, I try to avoid conflict. I don’t like to argue with others. As a result, I try to be as flexible as possible. Sometimes I agree to things just to avoid an argument. Some folks don’t view this as a positive, but I disagree. I try to remind myself that most things are not a tragedy. Why should I get worked up about something if it does not involve life or death? Remember-don’t sweat the small stuff, my friends! I must point out-my husband has told me that I avoid conflict with everyone else except him. This may be true, but I’m most comfortable at home, you know?
3. Independent
I enjoy spending time with others. I really do, but I don’t need to spend a large amount of time with other people. I can be alone and feel content. I enjoy spending time with my family more than anything. I also enjoy having time to read, write, and create independently. Over time, this may change, but it works for now.
Now what about you? What personality traits describe you best? As always, I would love to hear from you! Please sound off in the comments!
XOXO,
Deanna
