Inspiration is “the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.” Yes! I agree with this statement 100%. I want to inspire people to live their best lives. I want to feel inspired. Time moves quickly. Years fly by. I strongly believe that the time we are given should be spent doing the things we are inspired to do.
We live in a world where inspiration is all around us. Sometimes we are inspired by so many people and other things that we can feel overwhelmed. At other times it is difficult for us to clearly see inspiration. When you don’t feel inspired, I urge you to take the time to seek it out. You can find inspiration while taking a walk, reading a book, browsing social media, talking to people, visiting new places, and the list goes on and on.
I’m curious-where do you find inspiration?
At times, I am so inspired by others that I feel overwhelmed. But that’s a good thing! I just have to make sure that I take that inspiration and stay focused. It is easy for me to become interested in so many different topics that I wind up not accomplishing anything. That’s not my goal. I want to remain inspired and accomplished.
At the end of 2016, I decided to start this blog. It was an exciting time. I have learned so much and I have been inspired by many people in this past year. One of those people is Chris Guillebeau. I have never met him but I listen to his daily podcast.
I Am Inspired: Chris Guillebeau and Side Hustle School
Chris Guillebeau is a true inspiration to entrepreneurs and others interested in making positive changes in their lives. He is the author of The Art of Noncomformity, The $100 Startup and his latest book, Side Hustle. I listen to his podcast, Side Hustle School, every day on my way to work. Each podcast is short, ranging in time from 5 minutes to 15 minutes. I love hearing the stories of people who have enhanced their lives through their side hustles. Many of these folks still work a full-time job, while pursuing their dream of entrepreneurship. Chris focuses on business that do not require much start-up capital, just an idea that fulfills a need.
Some of these side hustles include a personal finance workshop, a digital magazine, running a pilates studio in your home, coconut oil mouthwash, homemade cookie delivery and many more! Chris began the podcast on January 1st of this year and set a goal of delivering one podcast every day for a year. He is on track to meet this goal for the year and has vowed to do it again in 2018! I can’t wait to continue listening to the podcast in the new year.

I have a long commute and Side Hustle School is just what I need to hear in the mornings. While sitting in traffic, I often look around at the people sitting in the other cars. Everyone looks pretty much the same. Some people are drinking coffee, others appear to be listening to good music or maybe a podcast, while others look stressed out from the daily grind. Side Hustle School helps me to mentally prepare for the day and inspires me to feel excited about something.
Every day at the end of each podcast, Chris shares the following quote: “Inspiration is key, but inspiration combined with action is even better.” I absolutely love that. The words are simple, but the truth behind them is powerful.
If you want to follow Chris, he is all over social media. Search for the handle “193 countries”. You can also visit his website here.
